Kayenta Street Painting Festival

Kayenta Street Painting Festival

The Kayenta Arts Foundation is proud to present once again the Kayenta Street Painting Festival on April 14-15, 2012 10am-6pm.  We are excited to have another opportunity to bring a variety of people and artists into our community for an color-splashed weekend on the streets of the Coyote Gulch Art Village.  There are many aspects of the festival that help to make it great!  Artists, Volunteers, Housing Sponsors and Business sponsors! We would like to thank Kayenta community members who are sharing their residences with invited professional street painters as well as business members who are sponsoring the event to make it happen!  We would appreciate volunteers who can help during the festival or the day before with set up.  If you would like to volunteer at the festival you may contact KayentaStreetPainting@gmail.com or Cindy Smith at cindy@kayenta.net to select a two hour volunteer spot.

This year we will be asking festival goers to choose their favorite square for the peoples choice and kids choice awards. A vacation package from Red Mountain Spa will be selected randomly from peoples choice tickets along with many other prizes for the kids!  So make sure you come to the festival to pick your favorite painting! –

Reviews

  • I have got to say how impressed I am by the concept. The area is beautiful and peaceful and the houses blend into the desert.

  • Kayenta, I simply love it! This is the only place I stay when I go to St. George.  We just hang out, go for walks or take a dip in the beautiful pool....

  • Famous artists of the past simply painted their surroundings. Van Gogh painted his sunflowers; Matissa painted his breakfast. I can paint Kayenta.

  • Kayenta is like living in a place where you are on vacation year round. This is our place to create family memories.

The Kayenta Community, in southern Utah's red rock country, is a tranquil enclave surrounded by protected lands.
A 2,000 acre master planned community of fine homes, custom building sites and community amenities, is located 7 miles west of St. George, Utah. Kayenta is a unique departure from the norm, focused on moderate land use, moderate-sustainable growth, and an appreciation for our magnificent natural setting. Nearby, residents find adventure in the southwest's abundance of places to explore. Zion National Park, Snow Canyon and Bryce Canyon National Park are within view. While just beyond the horizon, adventure seekers will discover places like the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell and Las Vegas.
