Kayenta Arts Foundation

Kayenta Arts Foundation has finished its second fiscal year in the black.  Thanks are extended to all who supported KAF’s events in 2012.  We look forward to seeing you in 2013.  You may request a copy of the Chair’s Annual Report from Judith Kapuscinski at judithk@freqcoor.org.

The Board is pleased to announce the election of Judy Terrell and Jane Blackwell as new Directors.  It also is thrilled that Cindy Smith will remain on the Board for another year and will serve as Treasurer.  Others continuing on the Board are Judith Kapuscinski as Chair, Susan Jager as Vice-Chair and Secretary, Aimee Bonham, Cheryl Collins, Bobby Edwards, and Matt Marten.   With deep appreciation, the Board said farewell to retiring Directors George Stoddard and Garry Morris.

As KAF enters 2013, new programs and activities will require extra effort to keep us on track.  KAF has engaged Man of Two Worlds, LLC to guide the development and funding of the Kayenta Center for the Arts, as well as to produce many of its events.  KAF Directors also will be busy with other undertakings which include the following:

As of January 1, the Desert Rose Labyrinth became a program of KAF. Cheryl Collins continues as the main contact for the Labyrinth.

Art In Kayenta is now a program of KAF. KAF is excited that Deborah Koehler, with a myriad of fundraising and arts experience, has accepted the position of Event Coordinator for AIK.   The transfer of AIK comes with other changes, among them, a change in season. The 2013 AIK will take place the weekend of October 18th.

The 2012 Quick Draw, held during Art In Kayenta, was a big success.  The Board has selected Tami Hlavka as Event Coordinator for the 2013 Quick Draw.

Planning for the 2013 Street Painting Festival in April is well underway. Aimee Bonham continues as this Event Coordinator.  The Board has no doubt that Aimee’s efforts, as in the past two years, will result in a successful Festival.

As a nonprofit, we depend on the generosity of the public.
