August News: Kayenta Arts Foundation

We have progressed from ground breaking ceremony to ground clearing for our new Kayenta Center for the Arts. See the picture below, or come see for yourself while strolling thru the Coyote Gulch Art Villlage.

Ground Clearing

How exciting for our entire southern Utah community to witness the Arts Center become a reality. We couldn’t have gone this far without you and your generous contributions.  But there is still much to be done, as we need to raise additional funds for the interior and contents of the building. If you’d like more information on the Arts Center and/or would like to contribute, please contact Garry Morris at  You can also go to, Kayenta Arts Foundation’s website, to view the promo video for the Center and review the Building Fund brochure.

Countdown to the 2013 Art in Kayenta Festival, October 11,12&13, Friday thru Sunday, 10am to 5pm daily!  Now just two months away!  Find us on Facebook at “ArtInKayentaFestival”, or visit our newly launched website

There are many ways you can get involved and be a part of this festive event, and we would welcome your help.  Some of these include:

– You and/or your business can become a sponsor (

– You can volunteer (contact Judy Terrell,

– You can spread the word and promote our festival to your friends and family.

– You can host an artist in your home.  Housing will be a real challenge during this time, since St. George rooms are pricey and already booked for Senior Games athletes and families. And hosting could potentially involve a perk from the artist! (contact Susan Jager,

  • I have got to say how impressed I am by the concept. The area is beautiful and peaceful and the houses blend into the desert.

  • Kayenta, I simply love it! This is the only place I stay when I go to St. George.  We just hang out, go for walks or take a dip in the beautiful pool....

    A Visitor
  • Famous artists of the past simply painted their surroundings. Van Gogh painted his sunflowers; Matissa painted his breakfast. I can paint Kayenta.

  • Kayenta is like living in a place where you are on vacation year round. This is our place to create family memories.

A scenic journey through Kayenta's history.

The Kayenta Community, in southern Utah's red rock country, is a tranquil enclave surrounded by protected lands. A 2,000 acre master planned community of fine homes, custom building sites and community amenities, is located 7 miles west of St. George, Utah. Kayenta is a unique departure from the norm, focused on moderate land use, moderate-sustainable growth, and an appreciation for our magnificent natural setting. Nearby, residents find adventure in the southwest's abundance of places to explore. Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks and Snow Canyon are within view. While just beyond the horizon are places like the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell and "Vegas."
